[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi all,

I took this last night. I couldn't think of anything to photograph so I started having a rummage through my room for random things. This was one of the things I ended up photographing. It's a little japanese (?) figirine, about 5cm tall.

I thought this would go well with a black background. I placed the guy on some black trousers on my desk with some black card propped up behind him. I fired an external flash from a direction such that he would be lit up whilst all the black surfaces would be in shadow.

PP- not a great deal. I adjusted levels and applied USM, and did just a tad of burning in case the backgound wasn't completely black. Oh and then the title. I didn't do any cropping on this one, the original photo ended where the grey horizontal line is, I added the space below.

Hope you like it,
Jako

Great figurine.
It have very nice colors and even if it haven't a "face"... the body expression make it useless (the lightning helps too).
The white line is amazing! It gives more style to everything.

I don't figure it out why you called it "Happy"... maybe because you was happy to find something great to shoot.
Regards,

Roberto Juarez!

Hey Jako,

I like this! So rich in colour/detail... the lines and curves are very smooth and precise. I think it's great that you got the black contours on him a 'true' black... 5cm? Wow, good rendition, the details are perfect (imo) Very well done Jako, I wish I had an external flash, or a table lamp again, my lighting is quite bad lately anyways, very well done... I don't see any flaws! TFS.

Biance.

Hehehe, cute.
The light works perfectly.

Nice picture of the figurine with good use of the negative space. Crowning glory though is the title and the font you've used - I can actually hear the sarcastic "yeah, right!" (which I hope you intended!)
Thanks for sharing
Mark

Hi Jako
This photo caught my eye at first sight. Today is very dark day with lot of cloudes and it seems to me it will be raining and your photo make me smail. I added it to my favorites. Good idea with composition and with trousers ;-)
Friendly regards
