The Leopard seal has a wider range of colors than the other seals, which probably reflects its use of varied foods such as krill, fish and seasonally, penguins and other seals, especially young crabeaters. Like the crabeater seal, its teeth are specialized to act as sieves to strain krill. Although famous for lying in wait for penguins as they swim to and from their colonies, only a few leopard seals make this a habit. Their large heads, with a wide gape and their inquisitiveness, gives them a rather undeserved bad reputation for attacking humans (but I do not want to try this concept myself). The leopard seal is found on the Antarctic coast, fast ice, pack ice (as shown here) and they visit sub-Antarctic islands mainly in winter. Like the crabeater seal, it is primarily a resident of the fringes of the pack ice.

PS was cropping, decrease brightness by 12 points, increase contrast by 20 points, add frame and signature, resize and sharpening for TL.

Comments and suggestions are very welcome.

This is my 100 post :)
Cheers,
Wellington

Abraços,
Wellington
