Hello Chap!
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
King penguins at the huge colony in Fortuna Bay, South Georgia (I know it is UK territory, but it was part of my Antarctica trip...).
It was pouring rain that day.
Note the penguin on the left hand side nesting an egg between its legs.
The tall guy in first plane is patting the back of the other penguin. Not sure why.
PS was cropping, curve adjustment, color adjustment to reduce blue, reduce brightness and little contrast increase. Framing, size reduction and sharpness for TL. I know focus is not the strongest point of this shot, but I thought it was worth to post to show the funny penguin gesture.
Cheers,
Wellington

..and the guy in the middle is standing on his buddies back! Maybe it's penguin massage.
Very interesting shot. I find penguins to be endlessly fascintating. Great capture.

Hi Wellington,
This is a funny but great picture, the penguine with the egg looks like he is about to lose it, but looking again I can see that he is leaning over it more to protect it from the rain, as are a couple of the others. Maybe the one standing on the others back is just trying to get a better view across the bay.
Nice detail and love the yellows on there heads.

Great photo! I have only seen the Magellan penguins and the Cape penguins, so far. This must have been a very interesting trip!
