This photo shows a gentoo penguin searching for the best way into the ocean.
Gentoo penguins are very fast swimmers, they weigh about 6 kilogramm and are about 70 to 80 cm tall. They are white and black and have very eye-catching orange feet and a orange-black pecker.
I took this photo near the polish antarctica-station called "arctowski". The station is named by a polish scientist named Henryk Arctowski. He was one of the men of Roald Amundsen and he was the first polish man on the antarctic-continent.
The science-station is based on the Admirality Bay on King George Island and it began working in 1977.
