| A view of historical place of Bamian which is the center of the anciant civilization of Koshan's Empire, almost more than two thousand years ago in central part of Afghanistan which will not be wrong to call Hazaristan. The anciant tallest Statue of Budha in the world, was destroyed by taliban, is also in Bamian. in my opinion this may be the most attractive tourist place in today's Afghanistan. |

Hi Muhammad,
Great landscape work with the most beautiful colours. I like very much the shadow and highlights in this one.
Well done,
Salvu.
Beautiful scene. I spent around two months just a short distance down the valley from here, in Bagram, and I will never forget the beauty of sunrise and sunset on the mountains.
The lighting is very difficult here; in averaging out the huge contrast difference between the shadowed foreground and the bright sky, I think your camera meter really only exposed the foothills well. Until camera sensors are equipped to cature the range of contrasts you and I can see with our eyes, these limitations will always be there; until then, I recommend a graduated neutral density filter to capture scenes like this, or taking two shots, one exposed for the foreground shadow, the other for the background highlights, and combine the two in Photoshop. The alternative is to either omit the sky or the shadowed foreground to ensure that you end up with a scene that is within the contrast range the sensor can capture accurately.
