Ararat, the Holy Mountain, is a popular motif for painters in Armenia. Ararat lies on the Turkish side of the border, but from Yerevan, the capital of Armenia, you have a perfect view of the famous mountain, where the Bible says Noah stranded after the flood.
I wish I had had time to buy a painting, but I had only a few minutes left of the visit to the outdoor-gallery, and could not make up my mind which one I should buy. I needed also to get rid of the frame, for packing reasons. |
