[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was my first "date" out with my friend's "50-500mm" "Bigma" APO HSM EX tele-zoom lens. After shooting several Bird pics with this beast, I decided to shoot some hand-held portraits and landscapes with the lens.

This scene presented itself very quickly when my photo buddy decided to light up one for the night. I wanted to capture the light being cupped by his hands and face in all its glory. I wanted to test the "Smokin Bigma"!

Camera Settings:

1)Set the Metering to "SPOT"
2)ISO 400
3)Focal Length-100mm
4)Flash Off
5)WB:Cloudy

So after a deep breath and 1/25 sec being the choice of shutter speed, I squeezed the trigger to capture this dusk mood light. I cropped it into a vertical format and resized for upload to TL. Any comments, critiques, suggestion welcome. I would also like to thank my model: Cybermeritam, for being kind enough to lend me his precious "Bigma" and the photo opportunity. Hope you guys like this one.....

cheers,

Dilshan

wow Dilshan, awesome new lens you have... nice shot under low light... I like the mood and action of your friend.... well done TFS

Very nice capture under the conditions with such a large lens

Hi Dilshan!

This is an interesting photo to me. First, it's well done, and the different levels of light are very intriguing. I'm a smoker, and when I saw this photo, I had to take a smoke break. :)

dear Dilshan Mahdi,
a beautiful light and dark portrait shot.
it is really picturesque, like old oil paintings.
his dark blue wear is mysterious contrasted with the light.
and distant evening sky looks fantastic,
thank you for your excellent shot,
Akihisa
