Panoramic Jerudong

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Taken yesterday together with the photo posted also yesterday, this was one of the last shot just before I packed my bag to head home.
The day was getting darker despite the bright sunset on the horizon. Looking at my watch, it was almost 3 minutes after the sun has set itself beyond the horizon.
I set the aperture to f22 and meter both the sky and the foreground and it was about 2-1/2 stops difference. Quite lots of contrast despite the fast fading light, so I quickly put on the 3-stop Lee ND grad filter before the contrast changed again.
At home when I viewed the original shot, I wasn’t entirely happy with it although I still love the colour of the bright orange. So I decided to do something.
I cropped much of the sky and a little bit of the foreground and finally made a panorama, which I think looks so much better than the original shot.
On the left is row of fishermen’s boat ready to be launched at any time. It is just a walk away from the wet market.

Speed was at 25 seconds.
No Post Processing..... and happy weekend to those in the Middle East!! |
