This flower grows near tropical coastal waters by the beach side and is very beautiful during full bloom. However they fall off the tree during strong coastal windy days and is a beautiful sight to see under the trees of this species...almost a tropical autumn. I found this beauty on a fallen log on the beach and loved the way it still had its petals and internals intact. So I decided to take some close up snaps from different angles and varying DOF using A mode. I loved this one the best due to the contrast and sharp focus on the stigma which gave it depth and the blurry background.
Technical notes:
-I used cloudy WB to give the image the warmth and preserve the apricot color of the petals.
-I do not like using flash so set my ISO to auto with 800 iso limit
-I used CWA metering to ensure I got the flower and the inner parts to expose evenly.
-Shielded the flower from strong wind by placing my camera bag on the windy side while I took the shots.
-Adjusted contrast and added slight sharpening using picassa 3.0, then cropped and resized for upload to TL.
Any comments welcome and thanks for dropping by.
Cheers,

Hi Dilshan,
you are right the color of this flower draw my eyes in the thumbnails. Its a unique in its color and shape too.Technically the focus is very sharp to capture focal point,Textures are very interesting. The fairly dull BG has projected the subject very well,Composition is simple but impressive with shallow BG.A good note to give indepth story of the shot.TFS
