[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This time I decided to post an action pan shot I took with my new 70-300mm lens when I first got it. This was taken at the main stadium near my place and I thought of catching this determined runner in action. I used Shutter priority mode and followed his run from beginning to end and shot is continuous mode to maximize my hit rate and this was the most dramatic/sharp bunch of the lot. All these motion blur effects you see here were done at the moment the shutter was pressed and i only cropped the picture to give it some extra perspective. I hope you like it and any comments/critiques/workshops always welcome. Thanks for dropping by.

regards,

dilshan74

Critiques [Translate]

hi Dilshan,

nice shot!
IMO you should have cropped the upper part and made a little lens correction en at the bottom to erase de tilt white line.
I did a b/w workshop, hope you like it.

cheers

david

great shot of man running ... you almost can see how fast he is running... great job with blurry background the focus on the man... well done... TFS

Hi Dilshan,
Awesome action shot with very cool motion in the runner. The panning action is top notch. Maybe a little more room, but a little, behind the runner would have been nice.
TFS,
Niek

Great action shot Dilshan, the 1/40 sec shutter speed is spot on and the runner is nicely positioned in the frame
cheers

Hi Dilshan,
I did try this in film age but later I followed the technique, it is called panning as in low shutter it creats a nice effect.
The more precisely camera and the subject moves the most result it brings, that is what I leart.
Nice shot and good timing.
TFS.

I like this execution.
I do not know if you could chose a bit better background for this shot, and in this kind of shot it is though as subject is on the move - fast move.
TFS.
