Day 3 at Ta Prohm temple. Each day was getting hotter and more tired after all the walks and climbs to the temple sites. These 2 ladies behind the man showed you how the heat affected them. It's hot. From where I stood, they came just at the right time to fill in the space of the doorway when I was trying to shoot the temple openings. If you think they are tomb raiders, I can say they are dressed with western influence and one of them of Indian origin with that characteristic sharp nose profile. The sling bag and head scarf of the other girl makes a good contrast to a hat or umbrella style.

You should have guessed, I was mixing the temple relics and the tourists to get more human touch into the photography, after so many gigabytes of shooting just temple ruins alone all day. Ta Prohm is unlike Angkor Wat, it has less shelter from the sun. Of similar design to the later Jayavarman VII temples of Preah Khan and Banteay Kdei, this quiet sprawling monastic complex is only partially cleared of jungle overgrowth. Intentionally left partially unrestored, massive fig and silk-cotton trees grow from the towers and corridors offering some of the best 'tree-in-temple' scenes of Angkor sites. Ta Prohm was dedicated to Jayavarman's mother. Ta Prohm was originally built as Buddhist monastery, boasting of over 3000 villages, thousands of support staff and vast stories of gold and jewels.

Hi Bill,
this is very interesting and exciting shot. You managed to depict two stories at one go. The framing in its natural style is splendid about the designs and carving. You too narrate a good story behind the catch. Well done in a very special way. The sharpness and clarity is indeed excellent. What I like most is the brilliant smoothness of the overall capture, with good effective contrast,
Thanks also for your critique. I like it very much. Really appreacite it.

Regards,
Foozi

Hi Bill,

Hi Bill,
It is a good composition to showcase the fabled Ta Phrom which I find more interesting than Angkor Wat. The multiple framing works, there are fine decorative carving details, the inclusion of a few tourists add extra appeal. Best regards...

There textures are interesting showing their ages with the different colors.
The man is nicely framed and you framed the shot well, the people a great addition.

Hi Bill,

It's good to add the human factor to historical/architectural shots. Good framing of these folks between the two openings. Although you can't tell from the gentleman, the heat is apparent with the two ladies.

Interesting note.

Wow Bill .... a Nikon D700 !!
And yes, I can see that. The quality of this image is very high: very clean and clear, super colors and sharpness. Nearly 3D; the people are free-standing in their space.
Good capture of an interesting place. Good note with it too.

Bonsoir Bill,

I like the effect of frames, framew at the front, frames at the back. Most of the architechture is quite neutral, but the people and the folliage contrast beautifully with their colors. In fact, I wonder if the white frame is necessary with all these frames. Great shot and TFS.

WOW! This is a very fine photo, Bill! The addition of people between the two arches is a very good idea. This gives a a 3D aspect at this image. I like the strong contrast with the colorful clothes and the gray texturized of the walls stone. The greeneries in background are a good complement for more depth.
Realy your photo is impressive and very alive!

Hi Bill - again an outstanding image, the detail in the carving of the stonework is superb, the contrasting life in the shape of the tourists is breaking up the hardness of the ruin and bringing it to life. The detail, colour and presentation is once again superb. TFS

Yes, I think including people in a photo adds a dimension and brings humanity to what can sometimes be somewhat boring repetition in photos of historic, albeit interesting old relics.

Keep shootin' dude!

Richard

Hello Bill,I like the square format of this shot and the way that the architecture frames the three people.
