Taken at Angkor Wat in Cambodia. This steep set of stairs leads you up to the highest part of the temple. There are steps at each cardinal point, but this is the only set where any effort has been made to make the climb any easier - or less dangerous.
A narrow set of concrete steps has been added along with a thin handrail. Going up isnt too bad, but coming down I found got my heart racing a little. One girl at the top was in tears, her boyfriend gentle trying to coax her down but I saw them there for nearly an hour as I pottered around. These steps are steep, high and narrow.
f2.8 used to keep the sign as the main point of focus with a blurred background.
Shot in colour with my fisheye, sign selected, selection inverted, converted to b/w and some contrast/brightness tweaks. Cropped, resized, sharpened and frame added. |

Richard, this is a great shot with a fisheye lens, you don't see many of them.
It provides a unique POV that even a wide angle cannot do.
hmmmm maybe I'll have to dig out my old film camera and lens or just take a picture of it !!

Wow. Really nice P.O.V which gives the viewer the real feel of how steep these steps are. Impressive and a beatiful location.

love this POV richard :)
the selective desautration PP is very effective here
very good DOF and sharpness
excellent work :)
thanks for your honest comments on the Thaipusum post :) i hav reposted it with the other shot :)
Great composition - there is a really giddying sense of the ascent here, it works well! The decision to leave the sign in colour is very effective too, and yet despite it, I find my attention drawn up those steps to the lighter triangle top-left.
Great work!

cool shot, a litte funny. I like the contrast between the color and the black and white.
