This narrow cell seen through the tiny window in it's door, was the final home of hundreds of people. The bathroom is the empty metal ammunition box. A huge iron bar with two clamps was placed on the person' feet. No one could so much as move an arm, or change their head position without prior permission. The former classrooms were a warren of tiny narrow stalls. Each holding someone common, with less than two months left on earth, in Pol Phots mad campaign to rid his country of intellectuals and people he felt were a menace to his regime. Intellectuals might be tortured for eight months before death, to gain their "secrets". Over one fourth of the entire Cambodian population died in just four years time. Thousands brought to this school were tortured to death, by cadets aged 8-13 years old. Later Phol Pot ordered the children torturing others to meet their death also.

Very serious shot. Nicely framed. The moody atmosphere reflects the importance of the subject. Well done. Thanks for sharing.

Bonjour Gloria,
thank you for this duty of memory.
Jérôme.

Hi Gloria,
Thanks for this strong shot and note !
Such horrible events belong to the memory of humanity.
Sylvie

another good one, Gloria...with a sad note...really sickens me what one could do to achieve power and domination.you've captured everything so well...your photo depicts the gloominess and mood.
