We arrived the Chong Kneas Floating Catholic Church by noon (March 18, 2007) when about 50 people gathered here to attend the Fourth Sunday of Lent performed by the Indonesian priest in Khmer language for local Vietnamese people.
As a catholic myself, of course I am glad I didn’t miss this Sunday mass. I left Phnom Penh early this morning on a speedboat and the remain hours of this day, tonight, and tomorrow will be used against the asking of my co-workers at ALCON Laboratories and other friends at TrekEarth. That means had I missed this mass in Khmer, I would create a sin for myself—even though I only 'communicated' and did not understand the gospel reading before landing ashore the next day and found the English version of St. Luke 15:1, 11-32.
So this is the picture I took of Fr. Heri Bratasudama who serves the catholic communities in Siem Reap Parish and in charge of the Chong Kneas Floating Church. His contact info is:
