Hi Everyone,
The Bayon is a well-known and richly decorated Khmer temple at Angkor in Cambodia .
A brief history : It was built in the late 12th or early 13th century as the official state temple of the Mahajana Bhuddist King Jayavarman V11.The Bayon temple stands at the center of Jayavarman' s capital Angkor Thom.
The Bayon's most distinctive features is the multitude of serene and massive stone 'Faces' ( approximately 200 of them and they are gigantic...) on the many towers (around 37 remain....) which jut out from the upper terrace .
It is commonly understood that the 'Faces' are probably representations of King Jayavarman himself.
There maybe thousands of different points of view from which to photograph this site, this is my view , one that has been done and re-done so many times but still i am confortable with it...lol,
I would like to present you with more travel pictures of my pre-digital era in a near future , so this a first scan from me on this site , please do not be too harsh on me ,,,hehe.. Thus, scannned from a print here is my ' Faces of Bayon 'taken in early December 2003 ,
Originally in B&W (i used to carry along two similar cameras for each medium on which i fitted common zoom lenses ), adjusted levels in PP, sharpened and frame ,
A Big Thank you to all of you writing a critique,

Carol

Hi Carol
Great job with the scan and also great job of getting those photos, I am in awe at the sharpness.

I wish I had the talent you have for scanning as I too would have some great pictures to share, but when I scan I get way too much noise, so that's on the back burner for now.

Bonjour Carol
Impressionnant cette vue !

Amicalement

Sylvain
