Fastest Cyclo in Phnom Penh
 |
|
| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Hi,
Here is another thing I just learned in Photoshop: "How to add action to a scene". This is also my first experiment of this kind. When I took this photo I was trying to get the same effect naturally with a slow shutter while panning the camera with the focus locked on the subject. But, this cyclo was actually very slow so it didn't happen. Thanks to Photoshop, he is now the fastest cyclo in Phnom Penh :)
PP:
- added a duplicate layer and blurred (motion) the top layer.
- used Eraser on top layer to remove the blur starting from the center and working my way outward. Eraser opacity at 100%
- When I got closer to the edges, reduced Eraser opacity to 5% to get more natural looking edges.
- Finally "Merged Down" the layers
Hope you like it and thank you to all who replied to my last post. It was very encouraging! I appreciate it!
Cheers,
Skye |

Not only do we get a since of speed but the attention is much more focus on the subjet then the back ground...great picture!

A beautiful daily life scene, Skye, made even better with PP work. I think this picture provides the full essence of these Asian countries who uses the cyclo. Excellent!
Nice shot, Skye! A nice piece of life you captured, and your PP work is very good. Great job!
Absolutely fantastic image, Skye! The composition is spot on and the work you produced in Photoshop not only enhances this image, but is done so skilfully that I thought before reading your note that you captured this scene naturally with your camera!
WELL DONE,
Shelly.
