[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
People are always more interesting to me than anything else but some sights that are built by humans are unbelievable...The Shanghai harbor and the great Pearl Tower are such sights. Because the Expo will be in Shanghai next year one entire side of the harbor is closed so the only way to see the great buildings is from the boat...this shot was taken on a boat ride beginning at 6pm when it was light and the building very grey without any lights...as the ride continued it got darker and the lights began to come on..this shot was done with the 35mm fixed lens. I reduced the noise slightly and was able to use F2 because of the distance from me to the buildings. In this situation I like the central placement of the great tower and the very low horizon line.

Hi Roger,
Excellent capture of this unique piece of architecture. The details in the Pearl Tower look great. I really like the glow the lights are giving off. Very nice work.
Regards,
Kevin

What? No hot babes, no motorcycle dudes? B-)...this is a marvelous low light shot Roger! The sharpness is great, really nice work on this! Suggestion?? Try F11 or higher, for a longer exposure. You will get the lights to twinkle!

Hi Roger

beautiful architecture indeed and a nice night shot!
I like the colors on the Pearl tower.
there's no sign of noise at this size of the image, and I think that it also happens in the main photo.

Hi Roger,

Very impressive shot of the tower. I'm amazed at the sharpness considering the low light and the fact that you were on a moving boat. The lighting is just awesome.

Werner
