[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a picture of a man that lives in the Chinese Hutongs in Beijing. The hutongs are amazing places with tons of history. Some of the hutongs are hundreds of years old and the conditions of some of the structures are proof. This gentleman and his wife invited us into his modest home for a tour. The house was less than 650 square foot. There are 7 family members living in this small home. In this shot he is showing me his office and where he goes to get away. This space is smaller than most closets. I am so appreciative for my friend Julie who brought me to this wonderful Hutong, thanks Julie.

For this shot I used my 28-75mm tamron lens. I set the ISO to 2000 due to low light. The ss was set to 1/160 and the aperture was set to f2.8. The only light available was a small amount coming in through a window off to the subjects right. In PP I cropped for a closer look, increased the saturation slightly, adjusted levels and sharpened. I hope you like this shot and as always thanks for viewing. Have a great day!!

Regards,
Kevin

Hi Kevin,
I guess the Nikon D300 is far superior to the D60 up through to the D80 when it comes to noise, due to the use of a high ISO,your image is a testament to that. You really captured a lot of detail with sharpness from the low light available. I would think the use of both a high ISO & a fast lens f/2.8 helped in this? IMHO you have capture this portrait very well,I also like your composition, though as you say, there was not a lot of room in this space he occupied for the shot.
Very kind & obliging of him, to welcome you to his humble home. Just out of curiousity, can you remember what the object was, he had in his shirt pocket, looks like a small bottle?
TFS
Ron
