[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
On the way to Hong Kong and lots of storms to dodge at this time of year. This is one near Guangzhou, China just before we started descending into HK - in fact the orange glow left of photo are the lights of Guangzhou.

This is what the storm cells look like from 39,000' or so - quite impressive but we do are very best to stay well away... There was quite an active cell to my left too at this moment.

The blurred area at the front of the photo shows part of the windscreen wiper :-)
It's a little blurred - except for the cloud itself - because of the long bumpy exposure to try and capture the lightning here...

20secs at f3.5, ISO 800.

Anyway - last post for at least 3 weeks as am off on my holidays, escaping the Dubai heat at last!!! Catch you all soon...

So this is what you guys in the front get to see!!! Very intriquing and beautiful!! Quite surreal. TFS

Hi David,
A great job considering the lighting and conditions you had to work with. A very unique sight, interesting to read your note. No visible grain whatsoever from ISO 800. Thanks for sharing this.

Regards,
Scott.

Hello David

So strange atmosphere....
It is the reason why I like it.
It is from the plane ? Very very special work.
Creative and strong result I think
Great job ...I see a monster like in a nightmare.

Best regards

Very impressive shot with a strange effect given by the light. The soft colour in the background give depth more than if it was in B/W.
Best regards
John
