[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I had originally called this 'The Secret,' but then it occured to me that 'Chinese Whispers' would be a more suiatble title, since these kids are Chinese, and we were indeed playing that very game when this was taken.

I used the selective desaturation setting on my camera, chose red, and deselected everything else. Luckily, the girls' faces came out very well, along with some clothing. There were some other distratcing red elements in the photo, which I selected and desaturated using Photoshop. Other than that, I increased saturation and contrast, and then sharpened a little.

Model: Canon PowerShot A620
Software: Adobe Photoshop CS2 Windows
Exposure Time: 1/60 sec
F-Stop: f/2.8
Focal Length: 7300/1000 mm
Metering Mode: Pattern

I think you made the right choice in desaturation. I gives the impact for the focal point as well as added a neutral but interesting bg. The comp and image works for me. The red and white as well as the watch add the interest to this shot. Well done.

Hello Andre,
A very pleasing capture of this cute situation!
Well framed in a nice composition, good colours and fine details...
Very nice indeed!
Greetings,
Pablo -

I love the expressions and the POV of this especially. I don't know how I feel about the desaturation, I guess I don't like it, but that doesn't take away from what is a delightful photo. TFS. (Points to come)

Hi Andre,
Good shot, very familiar for me have seen the same situations but was apparently too reticent to take a picture you not and succeeded. Looking at your pictures from China I see you have a very original view!
Regards,
Hans
