The series China Faces will show the different minorities in China.
After landing in Chengdu and visiting a Panda park we moved quickly out of this multi million city. Once there was a journalist how sad; China is a giant if it comes a live the earth will sake. Well I have see China is a live. Mao will turn in his grave when he sees what is going on. More about that later. Our new direction is Kunming and we like to meet China's Ethnic Minorities.

China officially registers 56 ethnic groups. The ethnic Chinese, known as the Han Chinese, compose 93 percent of the population. Han Chinese speak seven languages, with Mandarin or Putonghua - which means "common speech" -- being the official and most-used. Cantonese, which is spoken in Hong Kong and in China's other southern provinces, is the second most popular. Most of the 55 other ethnic groups use their own languages.
China's minorities account for a small 7 percent of the entire population. They live along the country's borders and some of them live on both sides.
China has five Autonomous Regions for its minorities: Guangxi, Xinjiang, Tibet, Inner Mongolia and Ningxia.

In Tibet is China a real suppressor. This people need to be freed from this giant suppressor.
Chinese has high numbers of Chinese troops stationed in Tibet, Xinjiang and along the border provinces. The Western powers have attempted many times to separate these areas from China ever since early 19th Century.
China was ruled by Han most of the time in the past except in Yuen Dynasty.
China is a multi-culture and multi-disciplined society for a few thousand years. All minorities in China today have the equal right as Han Chinese. Since minorities reside in the remote area and usually poor, Chinese government has preference policy to provide training for the minorities to progress, govern and manage.

Hello Ruud
Lovely facial expression and the way he does look up with his bright eyes in to infinity is gorgeous.
Wonderful clarity and skin tone.
Lighter and darker spots and stripes in the background are a little distracting.
You gould give it a try by soften the BG.
Thanks for sharing.
Kindest regards, Harry

Hi Ruud,
Beautiful portrait! In this natural light, the colors of the skin is awesome. Great, this glance. As usual, your add an interesting note!
Even here in my small village very far from China, our local economy is already strongly shaken by this giant. But we have to adjust us! The sun is shining for all, isn't it? Let us hope that it will also shine for all the minorities about which you speak! Bravo! Annie

What a dear young man - the Cross around his neck and the jacket over his t-shirt, and the dirt on his face. You show him well Ruud.
I believe that the Christian church is growing in China - I have a couple of Chinese Christian friends who now live in NZ.
Cheers
Janice
