| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| This was taken in the early morning on the 2nd day of the Gobi March 2005, a 7 day, 250km footrace across the Gobi Desert of northwest China. It is a race modeled after the famed 'Marathon des Sable' which has often called itself 'The World's Toughest Footrace'. Taking pictures whilst participating in an event such as this isn't easy. My teammates won't allow me to slow down the pace of the team's progress. If I spot an opportunity for a photo, I have to run ahead to position myself for the shot. Here, I spotted one of the markers the race organizers use to mark out the course and got down low and waited for my teammates to run by. I used photoshop to clone out another racer that was mostly obscured behind one of my teammates, increased saturation slightly, removed noise, sharpened and added a thin red frame. I've never used a frame to showcase my pictures before, and am not really sure if I'm doing it correctly. Any comments? |
