[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
As I walked around the "Window of the World" theme park I tried to take some macro shots of flowers.

Out of the 20-25 flower shots I took, this was the only one that I liked.

Then when I went to add a frame in PS, and zoomed in on the petals, I was very disappointed. I had been duped!

Not only do I have much to learn about taking macro shots, I also have to learn about flowers too.

TrekEarth theme: Window of the World.

Tech: Cropped and resized for TL. Sharpened. Brightness +3. Contrast +6. Added frame.

Lol ! Fake beauties. I'm sure I would have been duped too, I'm not used to shoot at Mother Nature. If I forget about the texture of the petals, I like the colors, and DOF is good too :)

Even if you have been duped - and we too - a good composition, DOF works well, good colours, I like the branch, giving a kind of "anchor" for my eyes on the very blurred background. Well framed.

I suppose the others in the background are also artificial - it must be a huge work to create them

This reminds me the first macro shot I tried, it was also of some cherry flowers, but I could not be duped since they were in a vase.
I wonder if you ran your photo in NeatImage if it would not remove the texture on the petals and give them a natural look. But it is a good composition and quite sharp to me.

Eh oui ! l'objectif à un oeil plus perçant que l'être humain !
Cela n'est pas grave, la photo est réussie.
Très bien Andrew.
Eh yes! l'objectif in an eye more piercing than human being! That n'est not engraves, the photograph is successful. Very well Andrew.

LOL! Like your story. Never mind, it is a good shot anyway. Wonderful macro/DOF. You have to go here in Thailand. Their craftmanship is so good that I have been duped so many times.

lol that is funny. A good marco as we can see the threads... at least they will last longer.. good shot.

Wonderfull macro Andrew, lovely colours and very nice sharpness.

This is really a "wow-image", Andrew. You open it and then... "Wow, what an image!" But looking closer a suspicion sneaks up on you... Hmmm... And reading the note, you understand - it's a fake! Now does that make the wow-feeling less worth or - perhaps the contrary - will it enhance the feeling of looking at something remarkable... ;o)

Elegant macro shot with lovely colors, great composition and DOF. Very well done!

[To learn how to take macro shots you start with fake flowers, move on to domestic and finally you're ready for wild ones!]

Great macro of this textile flower, Andrew :-D Love the story, and really like the shot for its great colors and its DOF. Very well captured.

DOF and pink background - a very nice colposition, but also very nice and very sharp shot. Well done, Andrew.

Beautiful picture, very well composed and colourful !
The petals is great !
Congratulations !

Very fun image, Andrew! I was duped, too from your thumbnail to this. I love how you've captured the texture of those fake petals!

This is the best duped picture I have ever seen. Great colours, depth of field, and focus. Well done, indeed.
