I took this photo on Nam-tso lake in Tibet. Nam-tso is with his altitude of 4718 m and according to some sources the highest lake in the world. Actually this isn't the real truth - it's 22nd. (you can check for explanation here) but it's much bigger than preceding 21 so we can call it the highest big lake in the world. :)
Eventually, Nam-tso is one of the really extraordinary places. During my visit to Nam-tso it was incredibly cold with very strong winds blowing and there was snow all around but the lake never freeze because it's salty. Nam-tso is very important place for Tibetan buddhists and during spring and winter it's full of pilgrims from all parts of Tibet and many of them are coming to Nam-tso by foot walking for weeks or months to get there and to continue there pilgrimage to Lhasa or some other of Tibetan sacred places.
On this very cold day I visited Nam-tso there was no living creatures around except one eagle I posted on one of my previous posts and this sheep that was delighted to meet someone and was readily posing near this pile of katas (holy scarfs) and other sacred ornaments.
Oh, I forgot to mention, this photo is scanned slide...

What an incredible place to visit Goram. So high, and the lake so big, and it looks so cold and windy! I like the land of snow in the BG too. Well captured, and a good composition too. TFS,
Janice

This photo is very impressive.

Hi Goran, What a thrill for TLérs to see such a far away place as this. Fancy a very high lake being salty, that seems strange. Your POV to get the sheep in front of this lake was an excellent idea. Look forward to viewing more of these Tibet photos. Murray.
