Same place, same night, same insomnia, different colour ... an insomnia has different colours !

It is an opportunity to remind the American writer, Jay Mc Inerney I like very much and his first and splendid novel "Bright Lights, Big City" (in French "Journal d'un Oiseau de Nuit").

Instead of Hong Kong, "Bright Lights, Big City "is set in New York City. The protagonist, a 24-year-old aspiring writer who remains nameless throughout the novel, finds himself in a crisis. He is bored with his job at a prestigious New York magazine, his wife has left him and he suffers from writer's block. To distract himself from his problems he spends every night out in the bars and clubs of New York. Throughout the novel we travel with the protagonist on the subway, in cabs, in buses and limosines, to and from work and nightclubs and we see the city of New York through his eyes.

The novel "Bright Lights, Big City" was published in New York in 1984.

The novel was named after the song "Bright Lights, Big City", originally sung by Jimmy Reed.

In Hong Kong, too, the lights are bright and the city is big ...

Allo Sylvie. La neige n'est pas encore fondue. Même qu'il s'en ajoute. Et j'aime beaucoup cette photo. On te reconnait parmi milles.

bravo

great Note Sylvie! this shot has ryhtm in it! maybe because of the staircase repetitions... and the tilt works wonderfully!

Bravo!

always takes a tilted line, cheers for the original composition,Sylvie~!
no matter how grand the number of population is,no matter how crowded the streets are,and no matter how high the buildings becoming, everyone could finally find his home....
blue tone,but warm light~!

nice angle Sylvie, as some writers has peculiar mind, i love the blue and green tone to it, and you have your own signature photo, the 'tilted' look and it's always beautiful...I love your note too! the song was revive by Filipino singer too...tfs! Cheerio, Flo

You showed exactly as much as needed! I'm lost in this labyrinth and this is great.

i don't know how you did this, but makes me feel like i'm in the 60's...the colours are warm yet not dull...everything responds well in the photo...great work!

bonjour sylvie
