Colours of China...Pink

My final posting in the series "Colours of China". It was great fun to try this and got really good feedback on what to do to improve. Ofcourse I'm curious what your opinion is about this final desaturated photo whit the Chinese lady in pink.

This girl was selling 'yak kabap' but to be honest it's wasn't very busy inher 'shop' on top of the mountain near de Jade Dragon summit. To kill the time she is listening to music produced by het MP3 player....gosh what a contradiction.

So finalising this series I'm thinking about a new personal theme....or are there any sugestions from you my dear TL fella's :)

...to be continued.

Hi Hans,

I believe that your Colors of China series is really inspired and very creative. Excellent shot and PP work!
TFS,
Vassilis

I like it, but think I would have left her pants colored too. Looks wrong to have her upper body colored and legs desaturated. Otherwise I really like this shot. Excellent composition. I am going to be in Bejeing and Tibet in a few months, this really makes my look forward to the photo-ops I am going to have :)

TFS,
David

This is a great shot, Hans - particularly the contrast between her traditional costume and her run-down surroundings, and the MP3 player plugged into her ears. It's a sign that the world is truly changing at an incredible speed. In some ways it's sad - in others, it fills me with hope that as we are all drawn closer together into a global culture, so our conflicts will become less.
Nice placement of your subject and good use here of the selective saturation to bring attention to the strong colours also.
Great work

Hi Hans
Lovely shot! I like very much the composition though the girl has strange things on her head ;).
Very good job!
My compliments and TFS.

Nice capture amd very good PP work.
But you kept the yellow, red, green and blue colors.
Or did you miss them :-)?
She really is a multi-cultural lady :-) MP3 player and jeans with local clothes.
Well done
Pierre

Hi Hans,
Actually the idea of posting based on suggested themes appeals to me. You make the suggestion. I'll be willing to go along.
Concerning this photo all I can say is based on what my eyes see and they're very pleased with the result of you PP task. The colors, contrast, sharpness and detail are perfect.

Hi Hans,

Personal theme - well then get personal - for a woman probably collection of shoes - for you? technical stuff - books? - transportation other then planes?? - no serious I wouldn't know - I'm much too chaotic for themes.

Hello Hans,
This is a very nice PP work once again for this very beautiful serie you've presented us. I like the partial desaturation which bring all the focus to lady with the pink clothes.

Well done and TFS

H Hans. The image deserved far more attention. Excellent PP work with the definition in the black and white areas suberb. Delightful outfit she is wearing and yes the modern mp3 player does look a little odd. TFS,
David

Many thanks for your comment on ‘Lady in Red’

Hi Hans,
Great final shot in the series! I love the de-saturation which really focuses on the lady. The contrast between old and modern is good too, curious as to what the thingys on her head are? Great PP work and the sharpness and details are excellent. I love the framing too! Well done, the series has been great! Maybe we could have themes on our favourite things?? Or colours?? Would be hard to make a choice. Anyway TFS Cheers Tina :-)

Great series, Hans, and a fitting finale! Selective color makes the shot even more colorful!
Cheers
Otto

Nice daily life shot and good PP work on the partial desaturation to really focus attention on the girl.
Thanks for sharing
Mark

H Hans. Very good portrait here of this Chinese lady. Very clever how you take the colour away from the surroundings. Good to see. Congratulations. Murray.
