Kunming City. Wide river, hot day...

If you look closely, you can see a man on the other bank of the river washing and drying his clothes there just in the middle of town.
THAT is not such an awkward thing, but he is in his undies doing that! He's not just washing his clothes, but also himself...

For us westerners this is unbelievable... For the Chinese people... an every day thing.

I could have taken this man closer, but then you would not have seen the city around him. And that was what I wanted to show you... the whole picture.

Just cropped a little off the left and the top, sharpened a little and added the frame and text.

Another wonderful capture and such contrast, the tall imposing and yet beautiful building and the man doing his laundry in the river below..well seen and very well shot.excellent POV

Hello Anneke !

A bit strange indeed to see that ! I like the circles in the water produced by our laundryman . Unusual scene. Well presented from this POV. It could have been interesting too, provided you were on a bridge , and you could walk to your left , to take a vertical shot close to the other shore line, to see him at the bottom left and still the river and cityscape directly behind him.
