[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Another picture from the old town. The streets are full with these lights and give a very nice evening/night scene. Maybe I'll upload a nightshot in a few days.
There was some pp work to this picture since I took two and liked the surroundings of one better and the bright lantarn light of the other one... I just put em together by selecting and copoying and pasting.

Hoi Jan,
Heel mooi subtiel licht van deze Chinese lantaarn (doet me aan mijn vroegere toverlantaarn denken) Misschien had een wat nauwere 'crop' waarbij een deel van de rechterzijde vervalt, hier ook mooi gewerkt en nog meer aandacht op de lamp gevestigd. Neemt niet weg dat dit ook een mooi platje is.

hallo David,
Eigenlijk vind ik de donkere rechterkant net iets te... groot. dat zou wat mij betreft iets kleiner mogen.
Wel heel mooi is de lichtval van de lantaarn op het teken aan de muur. Prachtig. Goed gezien en heel mooi geschoten.

And why not "blend" two pictures, David? As long as the result is good, that's cool.
You could also try the exposure bracketing function on your camera, and perhaps try creating an HDR version with specialised software (including PS CS3).
Nice compo too, I like the contrast between the bright lantern and the darkish surroundings.
