Two days ago I drove an hour away from here and saw people without houses, food, water,... People that need help!!!
In the next few days I will show some more.

The earthquake went on for long time, it happened while I was teaching, we took cover under the desks and it kept on going. Seemed like it lasted forever. Still we can feel aftershocks, there was a heavy one yesterday but luckily I was playing tennis with my students and didn't feel a thing. But it's still in my legs and my mind. Strange feeling! But after seeing these scenes of destroyed houses; I feel lucky.

Take care and help if you can.

David

Powerful shot David. Sobering enough to see it on the evening news, more sobering still to see it through the eyes of a TL member.

When the subject is so strong it really becomes impossible to judge things like composition and other technicals; this is all about the situation you have captured. Living in a country that straddles a fault line, I indeed feel lucky that this time, it wasn't my town.

I've had to opportunity to experience a few, pretty minor, earthquakes; one in the Phillipines and a couple in San Diego, CA. Thing is, the were short in duration and yielded little, if nay damage, but the feeling of disorientation is unmistakeable and unforgettable as you mention.
I can't even imagine the feeling of the one, as described, that hit China, especially the duration, if not the power. Your image here captures some of that feeling and is an example of the total devastation.
"Nice" shot, in the sense of relaying the message.
Be well and take care,
Wilt

Hello David.
Yes, nature is still the strongest element on earth.
We are living on a 'firebol', who flies around in space.
Awfull what happened there.!
Wish them all the best for future and the strenght to survive.
Best wishes to all of you.

Not easy to help when we are so far, we just feel voyeur. Thank to share with us those shots being witness of this misery. It's a help for not forget them.

A regular horror scenario David...
I was really worried about you as you might have noticed.
I'm glad that you are ok, but at the same time I'm soooo sorry for all the people who have lost so much! Both in China and in Myanmar!
I think that the chaos you show us here doesn't even begint to discribe what has happend over there........ such despair... such need........

Hi. Hope things are going OK there. And I hope that you're hearing some of the good stories that are coming out, too.

This is one of the times that the big black frame does justice to a shot, David... a sign for mourning in the low lands.
As has been said, a powerful shot, a good document for the tragedy that took place in the region.
TFS and... take care!
