My daughter's kindergarten didn't fare well in the quake, and the building where the children have their naps has been deemed unsafe. The staff did a marvellous job of converting the weight room/gymnastics room into a huge dormitory, full of bunkbeds--180 of them in total, for a sleeping capacity of 360. This is about one thirtieth of the number of students and teachers estimated killed in the earthquake. It's unimaginable.
PP: cropped, leveled a bit, and again, no tripod was used--that would have been useless--but I stood on a stool and held up my two metre mono-pod to get this POV. |
