[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
My first trip to Hong Kong. Actually, it was my first trip outside the airport (i've been to both airports 5 times in the last 10 years, but never out of it)... and I wanted to make sure that I had my own Hong Kong Skyline photo as part of my collection. I suppose it's a must have..?
On the last day, though it was raining, I just had to get it. I brought my 17-50mm and I do have a shot at 17mm but I wanted a shot with less distortion. With this one, i wanted it at 35mm (but the EXIF data shows 36mm, so I guess I missed). I wasn't disappointed by the drizzle and the rain clouds. I kinda like the effect and the lights seem to come out more, though they're somewhat diffused.
I was breaking in the D300 and I must say, I'm quite impressed by what comes out of the camera. Just re-sizing here in Lightroom... shot is basically as is. Cheers!

MAGNIFICA!!!
FELICIDADES

Hi Patrick,
I've been to Chna may times however I have never been to Hong Kong. I think besides the low clouds this is a wonderful picture. I like the lights, color and detail in the skyline. Excellent POV here as well. Very nice work.
Regards,
Kevin

Magnificent shot. Great detail and lighting.
Well done

SideLined,

this is a fantastic shot you have produced, the colours and the angle of the shot paint a picture of a vibrant 21st century city.
the mood is enhanced with the smoke/smog/clouds. your composition is very good.

Regards C.D.

Hi Patrick,
What a lovely shot of Hong Kong, I love the way the rain has added a mysterious touch to it, and the lights in the buildings complete this composition.
Great detail and colours.

Hi Patrick, this is a great shot of this wonderful skyline. You have got good detail and depth. The buildings disappearing into the clouds look fab. I have seen this skyline a couple of times and made one of my shots into a poster, a great reminder. TFS, Jean

Hi Patrick,
a great version of this classic shot, the light from the top of IFC 2 looks like smoke.
well done
