...keeping the faith alive.

these are incense hanging from the ceiling of a temple (i could not remember the name) we visited. if i remember it right, people buy these incense and offer it to their Gods for blessings. some of these incense stay burning for days.

Hello Ro !

A very interesting shot, and ambiance you have captured. Here although the importance of a useful note is obvious. Perhaps , you can light up our lights, with a description of the scene.

Was this captured in a temple ? Is this Incense burning ? Is this a Special religious day or celebration ? a red tag sale in the streets?

You will certainly get more reactions from fellow members with a useful note. In any case , I love these repetitions and the mood. Great observation , and colors.

Cheers!
Robert

You have a good eye- a lot of people would just walk by and not see what you have captured--repetition, colour and the shafts of haze (maybe sun rays) I like this very much---Lynne

hi ro.
excuse my ignorance but what, exactly, are these?

thanks for updating your notes. put as much notes as you can as it can add to the meaning of the image.

so! now that i know what these are i can make a critique.

a tighter crop might have been more effective. take it from the top bar down may have changed its mood.

it is slightly oe but this is only minimal. try a slightly faster shutter speed or you could play about with the gamma in ps.
did a little ws to give you my impression.

it is a fascinating looking place and i am glad you have posted it.

Hi Ro
I remember the odor of insence being rather overpowering, and
found it quite fascinating to see people clap their hands after they had finished their prayer.
Very original and delightful rendition of all these incense cones, taking me back a few years.

Beautiful shot, perhaps could be a bit sharper (Sorry to "complain") it is a awaesome shot, tfs.
Workshop by trampas is good though frame is too large there, if anyone asks me.

Good play of the repeating patterns! The smoke from the incense adds an atmosphere to the image too!Good shot!

chiping
