[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
While traveling along the Yangtze River in China, one can take a brief break and travel inward along a small tributary. In doing this one can be blessed as a boat guide begins to burst into song with a voice that echoes along the walls. She has a great voice and the oarsmen pull us forward to the rhythm of her words. Though the song is sung in Chinese, we are told it is a romantic one as it depicts life along the river and tells of a young boy’s hopes for love as he pulls upriver the many boats that once traveled this way. It is an old oarsmen song. This young girl is descended from a family line that once upheld the proud tradition of guiding boats through these waters.

Hi David,
this is a nice portrait of the singer. I love the timing of your shot and the expression captured. The colors of her clothes and skintone look great against the blurred trees in the BG. Nice work.
