Taken while on "site-visit" in the Guangzhou district of Liwan. Was awestruck by the vast number of beautiful centuries old structures within the said district. Truly one of the many jewels within the modern metropolitan.
Formerly named Xiguan, Liwan District was named after "Lizhiwan", which is derived from poem of "a bay green water and red litche along both banks".

Hi Ian
Beautifully executed picture. Magnificently showed old back - street. Very curious description. It congratulates and I greet Mark
Better than the original version, Ian: colours look more vibrant and the different textures remain visible.
Said this, I feel there still is something missing. Perhaps some (discrete) human presence... Or, more in general, the fact that there is not really something to focus our eyes on: the dark wall next to the left upper border draws our attention but is not really interesting. The very clear sky detracts from the nice red tones of the house. At the right, we see the beginning of another small street, which prevents us from really wanting to look to the left (into the "main" street on your picture), where most of the lines go but where the shadow blocks our view (at the same time, this shadow is an interesting element, conveying a kind of confinement).
Perhaps these are the reasons (and they might be very personal)...
A nice potential though...
TFS & kind regards,
Erik
