[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Hi
This is a shot taken in September when going on a four day trip to Chongqing. Very busy city with terrible taxi drivers so in contrast this peaceful picture.
Two weeks ago somebody bought a print of this just because she bought these cups ;)
Cheers
David

dank David

Interesting, eyecatching subject. The stark light source creates a strong chiaroscurro effect that is perfect for a shot like this.

The only issue I have is that while it 'starts' well, it ends badly with the cups just running out of the right hand side of the frame, leaving it feeling quite messy. A visible end to the arrangement of cups, or even a fade out into shdow, would work better IMO.

Hi David,
I like this one, the diagonal works very well, and the lighting suits the subject.
Nice detail to be seen on every cup, well done. I would crop a little more off the top, just get rid of the extra negative space....IMO.
Seasons greetings to you and yours,
Pete.

Hi David, Very effective indeed. The repitition gives this a great feel. TFS. Murray.

Groetjes
Jan

I like the composition and the repetitive pattern of the cups - excellent POV which makes the most of a very simple subject matter.
Thanks for sharing, and have a great 2009.
