The highrise structures are near, but in the back streets away from the city center there is still a more simple China. The posters are for the Sping Festival and Chinese New Year (2009). Adornment is everywhere.

bonjour David
I was told that only few hutongs were left in Beijing for tourists.This beautiful shot with a perfect framing (cropped very precisely) resumes what I remember of old poor housing there: dilapidated house, cycles,junk heap, posters and so on
A great picture we like, all of us who have all modern conveniences
