This was taken in a small village outside Shanghai....there is a lot of building going on and the rubble from old buildings is everywhere. This man and his daughter were selling food at a crossroads.

Hi Roger,

Very interesting daily life scene of Shanghai. There's a stark contrast when one compares this to the hot dog carts we see in the US. Until I read your note, I wouldn't expect him to get much business with all of the debris to the right in the photo. This works well in B&W and sharpness and DOF are spot on. Hope he didn't add any tobacco flavoring to the dish!

I like the juxtaposition here of the traditional cart vs. the modern era in the power pylon in the background. Nice use of negative space, perfect b&w tones.

My model Sophia has Shanghai heritage and I can really see similar characteristics in the faces of these two!

Great work - as always. Love the scraps of litter lying around in the background - a real, gritty slice-of-life shot.
