| Reading by a river is a peaceful thing to do when the weather is still warm. In a couple of months time, this will be frozen solid into ice. Enjoy the moment is the right thing to do. |

Hi Murray
Superb graphism & sharpness with wonderful reflections. I like the minimalist colour. Don't remind me of winter ahead, pls. It's bitterly cold here in Korea, too! The woman reading makes a splendid focal point. Tfs!

Hi Murray,
Very beautiful picture it.
A portrait and a landscape very beautiful and very well played.
Have a quiet day,
Adrian
Hideously challenging lighting conditions here Murray - wow. A white jacket, hit by the sun, creates a double challenge when you're trying to meter for a lowered face in shadow!
There is potential here but I think unrealised, at least to the extent of many of your more successful others. The shot as is could certainly be cropped to eliminate some of the unnecessary background elements - the far bank of the river, for example.
More to the point, though, I think this is one of those situations where the photographer should think - "ok, it's all or nothing! If I get this shot it's going to be good!" - and actually ask the subject for her portrait.
Easy enough even with the language barrier - you just get a little closer, show the camera, smile, and will get a nod or a head-shake. If it's the former, you can get away 4 or 5 shots and have the advantage of being able to get close and intimate. If it's the latter, you've at least set a precedent for next time. :)
