This photo was taken in the "Xikiang Miao Zhai" near Kali of Guizhou. The people of Miao Zhai are still using traditional "Tenon" method without any nails to build a house.

This is great. I saw one similar in Sichuan, and it has a red cloth tied around the topmost crossbeam--just like in the Zhang Yimou film, The Road Home.
