I'm glad you tried again for the closer grouping - this is really nice! Neat angles and bright colors. The gray sky (again?) is a good background, and yet I wonder how bright blue would look? Glad you got home okay. :o)

A great capture and perfect timing, Andrew. The position of the plane is perfect and the flags are very well framed. I am glad you tried again, but you're lucky, because this airport is so busy..
Very well done.

My eyes just love the opposite diagonals ... and the direction of the plane and the flags is in perfect unison. Gray sky is good too ... makes the lighting even and soft giving you clear defined elements (flags and plane).

Great composition Andrew. I like the way the flag fly in the wind.
Well done

Converging angles coupled with the plane's take-off position make this a great shot Andrew. In am curious to know if there are still any British flags still fluttering in Hong Kong after the turnover?

Great timing on this one, Andrew. The way the plane is placed in the upper left corner is just brilliant. I think this is one shot where a gray sky works equally well or even better than a bright blue one would (I can't believe I just wrote this ;-). Fine use of diagonals, and good capture of the flags waving in the wind. Well done.

A nice simple shot that works very nicely.
I'm wondering whether I wouldn't be more satisfied with the only 2 red HKG and China flags, cropping out the blueish on the right hand side.
That would increase the monochrome sensation IMHO and look alike the cold war posters, boasting socialism and technical progress.

Excellent composition, Andrew. The aircraft almost disappearing from the photo (too) and the flags flying for the wind. All very nicely possitioned relative eachother and showing plenty of color despite the grey sky. It also clearly explains that most departures (and landings) are done against the wind.
I recognize well your feelings when a shot "evolves", how I see a new potential and I wait one more... one more...
I've almost been freezing my hands off tonight, trying to catch a blurred train for the Hunt!
I knew I had seen this photo, but I was looking in TE without luck - thought maybe it was my "dreamshot"!

This is just amazing. You timed the shot perfectly and the way you included the flags in the shot works well. I agree with Luko about keeping only the Chinese and Hong Kong flags in the shot...anyway, this is excellent. Brave compo and an incredible shot. Well done!

Wonderful composition of flags and plains. I thing the fact you got bot airplane and flags in the same angle what makes this shot special - also a great job to get this shot at the right time - very well done Andrew.
