| Dancers and Musicans from Kinnuar waiting to entertain at a small Red Cross Melea (fair). Once their homeland was part of Nepal. The British could not stand the heat in the Indian plains. They grabbed huge chunks of Nepal's Himalayas for their cool "hill station" retreats. They made Shimla the summer capital of India and moved the entire goverment there for the season. Kinnuar can only be reached from Shimla with a permit from the government, in the summer season. The rest of the year it is closed by snow. |
