Hello TL friends

This old building (Sri Akal Takhat) is situated very in front of Sri Darbar Sahib (Golden Temple, Amritsar, Punjab, India)(see posting God is One). It is about 400 years old (June 15, 1606). Many times destroyed by enemies of humanity and sikhism. but still standing with more & more proud.

It is established as the place from which the spiritual and temporal concerns of the Sikh community could be acted upon.

Thanks Helen, I capture this photo long time back. Fridays Theme again helped me to bring out something which was not in use for long time.

your critiques are welcome...

Hi,Jagroop,
A wonderful shot with very beautiful combination of frame and contrasting shot. The temple is so beautiful seen from the POV chosen by you and the lady in saffron sari is a very favourable spot!
Very well done.

Valerka:)

Great capture - what a building! Amazingly grand, with such intricate and complex architecture.
Your work on the sepia is excellent, especially with the sky and the selective brighter colours. The inclusion of the people at the bottom of the frame adds a fantastic sense of scale.
I love this one!

Hello Jagroop. This is a very nice architecture shot. Layers of balcony are just stunning against the pillared domes. Well lit and captured vertically from low pov. Thanks for sharing this and well done. Regards, Jusni.

Hello Jagroop!
I've seen on the Discovery channel about Sikh history and about your struggle for national independence... It's difficult for me to understand the problem - moreover that sikh soldiers suppressed sikh uprising in fulfillment their obligations... Let me hope that Indian communities will settle their mutual misunderstandings. That hope is rooted in the great historic, cultural and scientific achievements of your peoples. This building and your perfect shot are also proof of your bright future...
Best wishes!
Anton

I can’t imagine seeing a building this old. Here there is nothing that would come even close. It is so beautiful with its lovely detail and interesting lines. Your conversion to sepia and the POV used make it wonderful. Excellent for the theme.

Hi jagroop
Very nice choice of architecture for this sepia theme.
Nicely composed and the details probably show up more in the monochrome than in color. Love the way the dome has a bit of glitter.
