| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
| Every twelve years is a massive Kubla Mela on the banks of the sacred Ganges, Yumuna, and Saraswati rivers meeting place. The Saraswati now is long gone dry, or far underground. I walked from our hotel at 4:00am in the eerie freezing, winter mist, to the river with 3 other travelers. We wanted to see the thousands of ash covered naked Naga Saddhus (Hindu holy men), bathe at dawn, after the full moon. There are hundreds if not thousands of platoon bridges across the Ganges. Dawn is entering the skies, and we only see this. We are on the wrong bridge for the Naga Saddhus. Bathing here and now, will wash away all your sins. This is a very auspicious Kumba Mela, it is the twelfth, twelfth one, 148 years since the last such one. It is too cold, and too polluted for me, but soon fills with families seeking redemption. |

Hi Gloria
A good daily life shot from India. I like the repetition of the numerous bridges across the river, & the high pov. Tfs!

merhaba Gloria;
ganj nehrimi neresi bu...hinduların günahlardan arındıkları zaman galiba...güzel bir konpozisyon, sis olmasa daha güzel olacakmış ama oluyor böyle aksilikler...selamlar
Very powerful image. There is much activity and environment. And mood as well. One could study this for a long time. Well done.
TFS!
Reid
I heard sometime about that pollution, but i didn't knew it was at this point! It's incredible! It look like a photo who had some serious alterations! Time... smoke... sun exposition... The overload of activity is dramatically impress!
