Good Evening TrekLens:
Once again, while doing my work, shooting some session, I stumbled at this one. And again, I could not resist it. And then the next thing you know, I am posting it here:)
Condition: Partially morning bright sun conditions. There was a a lot of mist in the air as well. But this meant that the sun was not that strong. Usually I have been posting flower images at 400ISO. But this one was at 100ISO (which means less grains & more subtle details).
As you may see, that I have not used a 'true' macro lens as before. And at F/8, it is handheld.
If my shutter-speed is 200 or over, then I like to manually focus the object. This is what I did here. In Manual Focus, with F/8 I can get enough Depth-of-Field that is needed for the most part of the object in focus.
Thank you for looking at my ordinary work & commenting.
Have a fine day!
David

Wow David, what an amazing image.
It's so sharp and it's so well composed...the light is absolutely stunning.
I really love this and you tell all you do and all you use... complete information. I think that's what I usually miss with most images... information about how, when and where.
Not that this tells me how to "shoot" a rose next time, but it does tell me what to look for and what things and circomstances I need to take into consideration....

Great work!
Thanks.
:-) Anneke

My compliments :-)

Hi David, this is a gorgeous photo of the rose and very good control of light and shadow. The details are great.
But imho, I would prefer if the whole flower was inside the frame because I think that the out of frame subjects have been over used. It's a very personnal taste.

Great work. Take care, Yan :)
