[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Look at the stars,
Look how they shine for you,
And everything you do,
Yeah they were all yellow,

I came along
I wrote a song for you
And all the things you do
And it was called yellow!!

Yeah friends it's portrait of my yellow bangles, which is going to be a part of today's theme. I love wearing them and like when they make a jingling sound:)

Bangles are part of traditional Indian jewelry. They are usually worn in pairs by women, one or more on each arm. Most Indian women prefer wearing either gold or glass bangles or combination of both. Bangles made from metal are slowly replacing those made by glass, but the ones made of glass are still preferred at traditional occasions such as marriages and on festivals.

The designs range from simple to intricate handmade designs, often studded with precious and semi-precious stones such as diamonds, gems and pearls.

May you all have a wonderful wekend!
Enjoy,
Shubhi:)

Hi Shubhi
Very nice idea, good composition and nice PP work.
I'd say that it was more beautiful if u tried to control a little OE of 2nd bangle from bottom and soften the lower right portion. (just my opinion)

2ndly try the right hand bangles (other hand's bangle) in the same colors lets see how it looks like :)

Good experimantal shot and good contribution for the thame :)

hello Shubi

Let me be the 1st to comment here.

I think the mystery is very deep to hide the face and keep us guessing :) Sometimes it takes a lot of courage to post your self portrait on the internet, but once you think carefully and cross that line, it never bothers me anymore. You see, I was supposed to meet some TL members when I fly to their city and how were they going to recognize me if they had never seen my face? So, a few weeks before the trip, I prepared my self portrait and posted it. Lucky the response from TL on the quality was good and I felt encouraged.

The softness in this post is probably intended by there is a slight OE on the hands. You could focus on the lower arm and avoid OE there.

tfs, bill

Hi Shubhi,

i just wanted to wrote those lyrics but then I started to read your note... :)
Wonderful softness comming from the photo.
Pure delight and gentleness where your yellow bangles step out as a loved motive and your face shyly hides behind soft hands.
A photo that intrigues, photo that teases, photo that exites our imagination and leaves us small shown parts of pure beauty.
Wonderful mystery.

regards,
jeri

Hello Shubhi,

original idea and splendid realization. I like the softness in your image and the way your hands are covering the face, leaving bangles to get all the attention.

Lovely image with the touch of mystery.

I was just reading the article about traditional Indian jewlery the other day and I was very fascinated by it.

Have a nice weekend,

Nusa

Hi Shubhi,

this is wonderful portrait. I like its softness and tender mood.

Interesting, something new and original... definitelly impressive shot that works really well in partial B/W.

Great contrast.

Have a nice day,

Stasa

Hi Shubhi
good partial desaturation
and composition
light is strong and very good
partial BW works very well
ciao

Hello Shubhi,
"The Color Yellow" brings forth sublimity upon those that crave its stain. Yellow is the color for higher spirituality, and makes others stand in awe before its appearance. We dream of princess' when we are young fashioned in only white, but yet the color yellow is her dress and yellow be her hair we yearn, and upon our knees we do slowly kneel. "The Color Yellow," Emphatic In Every Way!

Nice aspect, brilliant idea.

Great one.

Hello Shubhi! Original self-portrait. Mysterious work. Nice effect. Good contrast. Well done!

Nice! This is an innovative and unusual self portrait, with interesting selective saturation and good addition (I think) of blur effect.

Of course equally as intriguing as the bangles is your hidden face, and through rule-of-thirds composition and relative sharpness, the eye is easily drawn to the sweep of hair above your ear.

This would have been so powerful if you moved your arm to engage eye contact with the camera!

Rew

Energy, warmth, happiness, brightness, optimism come all from your shot and your color's "portrait", Shubhi!
The image is well composed, with excellent emphasis on the subject itself, the yellow color! :)
Best regards,
Diana

HI Shubhi!
What a wonderful idea for this friday theme!!!
I love very much the pose you take, and the gold bangles there are the only thing in color!
Very good job!

Carine

hey shubhi
how are you doing madam? :)
sorry to be late...
you are obsessed withyourself, hmm... :)

good pose shubhi, nice thought of capturing youself under such bright light.
i think you can subdue this overexposed area of your arm. the second bangle has totaly lost its detail.
and i agree with Rew, if you had an eyecontact with camera, this particular shot would have been a million dollar composition. :)
thanks for sharing nice ideas
regards

Salam Shubhi Jan
Excellent idea, I like the way you covered your face with your hand, nice pose, Soft PP work... nothing more to complain about a little OE cause I know you applied diffuse glow filter which I like it tooooooooo much!
ALIREZA!

Very delicately done. The soft glow is special and I like the idea of de-saturating the other set of bangles. Great idea well executed Shubhi.

Hello Shubhi
This is a very original photo with a good desaturation pp work. The photo has a mysterious atmosphere cause we don't know why she's hiding. A bit overexposed on the bracelet.
Good contribution to the theme
Bravo

Hello Shubhi
Lovely portrait with very soft and tender effect, well composed and very nice work. I would suggest something in this picture that the bangles and the ring should also b in color which would make a combination of golden color on the both hands. It just need a little more time and effort or the other thing without doing any effort u could simply take off the bangles from the other hand.(just my opinion)

Hi Shubhi,

This picture has immense clarity and a beautiful play with the colors. Your yellow bangles are striking and ur idea is worth praising. You still managed to keep the unusual look on your self portrait. Keep it up.

Hi Shubhi - a very nice partial desaturated photo, with the gold gleaming brightly.. Nice soft effect to the whole picture..

Good work
