| It is said that a king from the descendent of Yathu Vamsam raised great walls and palaces keeping the temples as the center point. And, these palaces are called as "Mel Kottai" and due to the bhakti he had towards the perumal, he worshipped the perumal daily by taking bath in the Kalyani Pushkarani and finally attained Mukthi. |
