| Located at about 770 m above the sea Level, Mysore, the capital of the old royal Mysore Province, is a fascinating city of Karnataka. Situated at a height of 770 m above the sea level, the name expands to "Mahishasurana Ooru", which means the town on Mahishasura, and has an interesting tale attached to it. It is believed that Goddess Chamundeshwari killed the wicked demon Mahishasura on the Chamunda Hills. And this is the temple of Chamuneshwari.......wanted to sharpen a bit but thought that would look artifical so just posted as it is...... |
