Here is my first post in the bird category...It really need much concentration for this category of photography. You have to wait at your place to take an interesting shot.
I can say this because I have taken around 100 photographer of this same bird but only 9 or 10 are good and others are crap…I have taken this shot at my house on the roof so to get the same level… This is a Rosy Starling my lil’ friend from west…

Photoshop work,
Cropped then adjusted brightness and contrast, added saturation and blurred the BG..

Faith is the bird that feels the light when the dawn is still dark.
Rabindranath Tagore

The Rosy Starling, or Rose-coloured Starling, Sturnus roseus is a passerine bird in the starling family Sturnidae. It is sometimes given its own, monotypic genus Pastor; a split supported by recent studies; its closest living relatives are still not certainly known (Jønsson & Fjeldså 2006).
The breeding range of this bird is from easternmost Europe across temperate southern Asia. It is a strong migrant, and winters in India and tropical Asia. In India in winter, it often appears to outnumber the local starlings and mynas. The adult of this species is highly distinctive, with its pink body, pale orange legs and bill, and glossy black head, wings and tail. Males in the breeding season have elongated head feathers which form a wispy crest that is fluffed and more prominent when the bird gets excited; the crest is shorter in winter and the black areas have paler feather edges, which get worn away as well as the black becoming more glossy in the breeding season.

Hello Vaibhav,

Your patience has been worth all the effort.
This is a fine shot of the moving starling. It appears to be coming in to land, with its landing gear down, just like an aeroplane!
I am amazed at the details you have aquired in this action shot. Having attempted to photograph birds myself, I know just how difficult this shot was!
Well done.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Vaibhav,
Fantasic action shot. Your patience has paid off with this one. Top marks.
Regards Clive

Hi Vaibhav,
Wow, that's a great action shot, it was all about timing. You managed to capture the right moment, the subject is nicely sharp. Focus and DOF are also correct. I'm not really sure about the black frame, but this is just a personal opinion, overall, it's fine! Great job, TFS!
Best regards
Kristof

Hey Vaibhav,

Let me start my telling you that I am very impressed. You have amazing patience and did a great job getting this bird. You certainly have done a better job than I could have. That said, I really feel I need to critique it against other avian photographs.

I can only imagine how difficult it was to get this shot. Your image does appear to be a little soft. It looks like it was due to either motion blur or camera shake. Judging from the EXIF data, I'd say it was motion blur. Birds are quick and trying to keep up with them at 460mm even 1/2500 sec can get blurry.

I also see that you originally had the bird framed in the top-left of the image. That would have been great, except he moved. Especially with the movement, I would have preferred the bird to be given some space to move into. Keeping him in the top-left would have been great.

Your colors are tip-top and your depth-of-field is spot on. I love the angle from which you shot him. Great commitment to shoot from your roof!

Kudos to you for getting this shot under, what I can imagine, were challenging conditions (sitting on the roof that long couldn't have been much fun). Again, it's still probably better than I could do.

Hi Vaibhav,

Hello Vaibhav,
You did a wonderful job of capturing this bird in flight, they move so suddenly and so fast.
I have similar shots of sparrows, as you say 100's of shots to get 1 or 2 good ones.
Keep up the good work.
Peter.
