Hello TL-friends,
yesteday "Mukesh" gave me the idea with his wonderful shot of the Taj also to show one of my Taj-shots at my beautiful visit in Agra.
When you know the story of the Taj Mahal you will understand why I had the idea to put a portrait of Mumtaz Mahal into the water.

The origin of the name "Taj Mahal" is not clear. Court histories from Shah Jehan's reign only call it the rauza (tomb) of Mumtaz Mahal. It is generally believed that "Taj Mahal" (usually translated as either "Crown Palace" or "Crown of the Palace") is an abbreviated version of her name, Mumtaz Mahal.
The construction of this marble masterpiece is credited to the Mughal emperor Shah Jahan who erected this mausoleum in the memory of his beloved wife, Arjumand Bano Begum, popularly known as Mumtaz Mahal, who died in 1630. Her last wish to her husband was "to build a tomb in her memory such as the world had never seen before". Thus emperor Shah Jahan set about building this fairytale like marvel.

I hope you like it.

love the comp, what a lovely idea to put her image in there, seems very fitting! Thanx, M, (*_*)

Sabine I love it. For one you have conveyed so well the symmetry and solidity of Taj with that glow, a sort of halo (I don't know how you managed it) plus the idea of putting Mumtaz Mahal's persona there. It shows how deeply you have felt the mysticism of Taj. It is one great fusion of symbol and reality. It is just so beautiful
Mukesh

Master piece
Maybe you have to ripple the image in the water
I know you can do it

The insert was done with much care, Sabine, and it shows. I like the overall image, but I feel the temple itself is tilted. I know the vertical is perpendicular because I checked it. But the horizontals do appear (slightly) tilted clockwise. Could it be it's lens distortion ?
Anyway, I love the idea. TFS.

I doubt about the inserted picture; without it was enough I think.
Well; the view here is great; wonderful deep picture with tiny people at the end; this makes the perspective measurements.
Thanks Wishnu

Lovely shot Sabine, I feel also it was good before the picture insertion, but I also like it with it.
Nice symmetry, colours and sharpness.
Thanks for sharing.

What a beautiful creation! This is very romantic and poetic! Great notes! Very well done! Bravo! Michel

Hi Wishnu,

Great shot here and a nice bit of PP work too. I can see a slight tilt also but it doesn't detract from the beauty of your picture and its history. Good work!

Guten Tag Wishnu

A spectacular monument to love. I am sure Mumtaz Mahal would have been impressed. Good to include her portrait too. Well done!

I see you put a lot of thought into this creation. I like the idea of face in the water. Very nicely done.

Beautiful shot and very well composed. out of points today.

It change from that so classic view with the icone you add! I enjoy that! It's realised with a good taste!

Hi Sabine, excellent PP work carried out with the inertion of the picture. Wonderful soft colours throughout, great perspective. I must agree with Frank though that the horizon is just ever so slightly tilted. All in all great work. Thanks for sahring your concept of the 'Taj'.
David
PS Many thanks for your comment on Valley Views

I do wonder what the situation is at the Taj, as just about all the photographs of it show this view, which, over time, loses its impact (Familiarity breeds ...)
Seeing the group of people in the distance, it says to me that getting up closer is not a problem, therefore a different angle on the place just must be possible? A different POV would be so refreshing?
Sorry to sound negative but, aside from your PP inclusion, we've seen it all before?
Please check your reality reaction to this crit. It IS very different from the rest that I read above but this is what you get from me. I say what I see what I feel and not many holds barred. I would appreciate the same level of analysis on my stuff and, truth be told, I am beginning to get it from most of my regular visitors. In my intro, I do say that 'ugly crits are the most valuable'. Have I rung any bells here?

Wunderbares Bild,
Nino

Hi Sabine!
I reached this picture a bit late so my comments might sound a bit repetitive of others. Nevertheless, here they are.
First of all, your picture is one of the best I have ever seen of this inimitable piece of world heritage.
Secondly, superimposition of Mumtaj Mahal on it did not appeal to me as a sound idea. Reasons? (1)It scatters attention (2) It's not all that great a portrait of the lady.
Thanks for bearing with me.

Hi Sabine,
I don't know how I missed this when it was first posted, but it is a lovely image. I have been waiting to see an image of the Taj with a crowd of people in it, I guess will have a very long wait! I don't know I like the supepossition of the lady's photo is a good idea. But that is just me.

Really good shot and PP. A classic one but this one is very sharp. Really good. Thanks Sabine.

Wah Taj! I like Taj, as I've been visited several times to Agra. It is day light picture. If you get a chance take Taj at the time of sun set, and see the difference. Whatever, it is very wonderful picture of love! thanks for sharing.

Hi Wishnu,
Nicely ovelaying the image on reflecting pool of Taj Mahal. Great PP works.

Hallo Sabine,
