[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
It is serious - the female foeticide and infanticide in India. As against a healthy male female ratio of 1000:980 to 1000:1020 - the female ratio in country is 927 today (it was 976 in 1961). In some of the states like Punjab and Haryana female raitio is at 793 and 823. It is estimated around half a million female fetus are aborted every year in the country and in the last 2 decades over ten million female lives have been put out. If this continues the female ratio in India would come down to 250 of every 1000 population by 2025. We need to do something about it and soon!

There are many, many, many India's photographs these days. It seems that this destination is very appreciated.
I have the sensation to see always about the same pictures, very nices, very "roots" but it's became a little boring.
But, here, really, it's REFRESHING ! Your PP work is very clever and very well done. I appreciate your note too.
The best India's picture for the last days on TrekLens !
Bravo !!

VEry nice work, it really awakens something inside. Very well done!

Hi Mukesh,

Very well done, I like it, bye

i agree mukesh!
there needs to be a re-education of values and perhaps promoting women in society if people believe that having a male child is better for the future, whether to carry on the name of the family or to support the parents in old age, either way their should be a promotion of women and setting incentives to keep female children from being killed whether due to abortion or infanticide!

Great work Mukesh, very disturbing notes.
Good idea and excellent framing.
Thanks for sharing.
Michael.

I never knew the situation in India was that serious regarding female population...very sad:(( I hope something can be done about it!
Your photo is so well done, Mukesh...perfect to go with the note. I like the way you isolated the eyes, those warm tones of the skin make such a contrast with the blackened part...great work!
regards
Marija

Hi Mukesh

A sad social commentary, & good note. I like the tight framing, & division into thirds. Good work!

It's very nice presentation even the sadness of the subject! The thematic is powerfull! Congratulation!

Good Photographers note and good creativity too.
Besides good photography of course. English is not my native language so I should be careful to comment on the grammer.
"Let not that smile fade "; probably a poetic use of English language that I do not master :-)

Nice idea! Wel done!
Nina
